We are growing and our busy, private-practice optometry office is looking for an experienced, highly organized, friendly Optician! At Blue Valley Vision of Overland Park, we want both staff and patients to feel part of the family. Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous Optician experience is required
- Strong communication skills, including patient interaction and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented
- Comfortable with sales and making transactions
- Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer/web navigation skills
- Team player
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of insurance claims and co-pays
- Familiarity with medical records management systems
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet patients in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Educate and assist patients with fame selection, styling and lens options
- Handle frame repairs, adjustments, and cleaning
- Order and dispense products, notify patients in a timely manner
- Check in and document all incoming job orders correctly
- Maintain inventory/frame displays, optical supplies
- Assist the front desk reception
- Check out patients/collect monies due for services and products purchased
- Ensures the highest level of customer service and patient satisfaction
- Maintain practice confidentiality, follow HIPAA guidelines and follow rules and regulations of the practice
- Other duties as assigned
Schedule:
- Full-time or part-time, Monday through Friday position, no weekends
