Responsibilities
What You’ll Do:
Understand. Streamline. Lead.
As our new Payroll Manager, you’ll take the reins of our payroll function, managing people, process, and technology with purpose. From day one, you'll dive into the heart of the company—learning the structure, meeting key leaders, and understanding where payroll has been and where it's going.
Key responsibilities include:
- Learn the Business: Immerse yourself in our culture and operations. Build relationships across departments and understand how payroll supports our care mission.
- Lead the Payroll Process: Manage all aspects of payroll processing and reconciliation, ensuring timely, accurate pay for all employees.
- Own the Data: Handle exports, journal entries, accruals, tax forms, GL interfaces, and compliance reporting with precision.
- Drive Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements or technologies that elevate our payroll experience for employees and managers alike.
- Mentor & Manage: Supervise and develop the payroll team with a focus on service, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with Finance on budgeting, audits, and reconciliation. Be the go-to expert for payroll-related insight.
- Stay Agile: Step in wherever needed—your work impacts every department and function.
Qualifications
What You Bring:
- We’re looking for someone with a head for numbers, a heart for people, and a hunger to improve the process. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of payroll experience, with some time in the manager’s seat
- Deep knowledge of payroll tax prep and filing
- Familiarity with platforms like ADP Workforce Now; experience optimizing or implementing payroll systems a big plus
- Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and team supervision
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Advanced reporting and computer proficiency
- A mindset focused on service, innovation, and accountability
- Previous experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
- Working Conditions/Physical Demand: Business office setting with frequent computer and phone use

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $67,500 to USD $136,000. When determining an offer, we consider factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's work experience, education/training, relevant skills, internal pay equity, and market and organizational conditions. The total compensation range reflects the total package, including base salary, overtime, bonuses, add-on incentives, special clinical compensation, retirement plans, and all other benefits.
