Job Summary
- Diagnoses, treats, and helps prevent children's diseases and injuries in an outpatient primary care setting.
General Accountabilities
- Reviews patient file/record, including allergies, problems, medications, well-child visits, and immunization status.
- Elicits and records information about patient's medical, developmental, social, and family history.
- Examines patient to determine general physical condition or presence of disease or injury.
- Orders or executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition.
- Administers or prescribes treatments as needed.
- Determines and prescribes medication, dosage, and schedule given the patient's condition and allergies.
- Prescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patient from communicable diseases.
- Discusses any possible side affects to medication or immunization with parent or patient.

Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree and M.D.
- Experience: 5-7 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
