Instrumentation & Controls Systems Integration Lead
Job Description
Job DescriptionLead the integration of advanced I&C across complex plant programs
Picture your first month in this 12‑month contract: you sit at the center of a multidisciplinary effort, aligning architecture decisions, interfaces, and verification plans so advanced instrumentation and control systems operate as one coherent whole. As the senior technical voice, you translate stakeholder needs into traceable requirements, tame configuration changes, and guide teams through readiness for acceptance and pre‑operational validation.
What you will do
Each week you will move from concept to validation, ensuring technical rigor and regulatory readiness:
- Author, maintain, and socialize the I&C system integration plan for large plant technology projects.
- Own interface control—define, coordinate, and manage subsystem boundaries to align with the overall system architecture.
- Chair design integration reviews to confirm compliance with engineering standards and project objectives.
- Plan and oversee acceptance testing and pre‑operational validation to confirm readiness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration challenges throughout the system lifecycle.
- Implement a comprehensive Requirements Management Plan with end‑to‑end traceability from stakeholder needs to verification evidence.
- Build and maintain a requirements traceability matrix using tools like IBM DOORS or an equivalent platform (e.g., Polarion).
- Confirm that all requirements satisfy functional, safety, and cybersecurity expectations.
- Establish and enforce a Configuration Management Plan for documentation, drawings, and software baselines.
- Run configuration audits and manage change requests under formal change control processes.
- Prepare and support documentation packages for regulatory reviews, certifications, and audits.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related STEM discipline.
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years focused on systems engineering.
- Fluency in engineering standards and quality frameworks.
- Hands‑on proficiency with requirements management (e.g., DOORS, Polarion) and configuration management systems.
- Background with digital control systems and modern automation platforms.
