This is an on-site direct hire Safety Manager role located in South Gate, California. Previous industry experience in the Aerospace Manufacturing industry is preferred for success in this role. The Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of a comprehensive Safety Management System across the organization’s three locations. This role provides strategic leadership and subject matter expertise in all areas of workplace safety and health. The Safety Manager ensures full compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable standards, proactively identifies and mitigates potential hazards, and drives continuous improvement in safety performance. Additionally, this position plays a key role in shaping and enforcing company safety policies, fostering a culture of safety excellence, and leading initiatives that position the organization as an industry leader in occupational health and safety.

Core Responsibilities:
Develop short- and long-range plans to improve the effectiveness of safety systems and processes while ensuring compliance with customer, corporate, governmental and third- party safety standards
Create a plan of action that collaborates with other departments into assisting the Safety response from an overall safety perspective
Develop plans to achieve safety goals and drive culture change
Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement in performance, while assuring comprehensive operational compliance.
Facilitate audits as well as facility, machinery, and safety equipment inspections to identify and correct potential hazards, and ensure safety regulation compliance
Manages investigations for industrial accidents, near-miss accidents, and occupational injuries to determine root causes and implement preventive measures and corrective actions
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive and robust management systems, policies, and procedures that align with the business practices
Facilitates job hazard analysis and/or exposure assessments to identify occupational health hazards, including but not limited to hazardous chemicals and physical agents.
Manages regulatory agency, third party audits, inspections, inquiries, contacts and reporting
Develop working relationships with industry and OSHA groups and regulatory agencies to keep current on new and pending safety regulations
Manages safety training for all employees, contractors and site visitors; ensures proper training documentation and maintains employee health screening and training record files as indicated by company policy and regulatory requirements
