WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Mobile Medicine Provider is responsible for providing direct medical care to patients in underserved communities. This includes providing primary care, chronic disease management, and preventive care. The Mobile Medicine Provider will also work to build relationships with patients and connect them to other resources in the community.
The mobile medicine provider will be assigned to different locations throughout Sacramento County, depending on the mobile unit's pre-planned schedule, to provide care for patients on the mobile unit. This position is expected to be scheduled 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Requirements:
The successful candidate will be willing and able to:
- Provide direct medical care to patients in underserved communities, including physical exams, medication management, and referrals to other medical providers.
- Build relationships with patients and work to understand their needs.
- Connect patients to other resources in the community, such as housing, food, and employment.
- Advocate for patients' rights and work to improve the quality of their lives.
- Participate in outreach and education activities to raise awareness of the health needs of patients in underserved communities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Complete all required paperwork and reports.
The successful candidate has:
- At least 1-2 years of clinical experience working with underserved, low-income persons or homeless persons preferred.
- Current BLS and DEA certification
- Bilingual in English and Russian, Farsi, Pashto/Pushto, or Spanish speaking preferred
Nurse Practitioner:
- Current California RN/NP/NPF License.
- Current Nurse Practitioner board certification.
Physician Assistant
- California Physician Assistant License
- Physician Assistant Certificate
- NCCPA board certification
MD/ DO
- Must be board certified or eligible in Internal, Family Medicine, or Pediatrics
- Fully licensed to practice in the state of California with no restrictions
Knowledge of:
- All aspects of primary care practice; current, standard medical practices, treatments, test, and therapies, including acute care, chronic illness management, preventive care, behavior and psychopharmacology.
- Current emerging trends in technologies, techniques, issues and approaches in area of expertise.
- Pertinent federal, state and local laws and regulations regarding scope of practice issues affecting licensed community clinics.
- Principles of management and supervision.
- General information about public and private health insurance and third-party reimbursement issues.
- Community resources related to specialty care and other health-related services.
- HIPAA security and privacy regulations.
- Clinical quality measures, such as HRSA core measures, HEDIS, PCMH, etc.
Skilled In:
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Able to give and receive constructive feedback, holding him/herself and others accountable.
- Exercising good judgment in clinical decision-making and client care.
- Effective organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail.
- Using a computer for word processing, data entry and e-mail.
- Knowledge of modern office equipment.
- Speaking and understanding multiple languages is highly desirable.
Ability to:
- Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practices.
- Follow all safety procedures and report or resolve unsafe conditions to ensure an injury-free work environment.
- Use appropriate ergonomic measures to reduce risk of work-related injuries.
- Assure adherence to infection control procedures in the clinic, including bloodborne pathogen protocols.
- Maintain physical and mental health status in order to demonstrate professional and ethical competence in providing high quality medical care to Elica clients.
- Interpret, adapt and apply treatment protocols/guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain professional behavior with all levels of colleagues, staff, clients and the public, including refraining from negative comments about peers in public and in the medical record, resolving conflict with peers and staff in a private setting in a timely manner, and demonstrating courtesy and respect.
- Accept and be receptive to audit feedback and other types of clinical review.
- Understand patient needs as consumers of healthcare and focus service around those needs.
- Ability to maintain timely records and files.
- Understand the company’s policies and procedures in compliance with the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams of providers and staff.
- Attend scheduled provider meetings.
- Pass all mandated compliance training to meet regulations and requirements from all governmental and clinical agencies.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The work environment is characteristic of a medical clinic environment inside a Mobile Clinic unit. Mobile Medicine requires comfort providing medical care outside of the usual clinic setting. Resources may be limited compared to a fixed-site office clinic, diagnostic testing, supplies and equipment, and space. There may be increased exposure to outside elements, including sun, heat, cold, and rain. Employees will be expected to dress and prepare accordingly.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job . While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or feel. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Additional Requirements:
- Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

Compensation - Dependent Upon Experience
MD/DO: $212,160 - $275,808 annually
NP/PA: $131,040 - $170,352 annually
