Job Description
The Facilities Electrician is tasked with installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems within a manufacturing facility. This role is crucial in supporting production by ensuring that all facility infrastructure, equipment, and utilities function safely and efficiently, adhering to electrical codes and plant standards. The Facilities Electrician collaborates closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to minimize downtime and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, motors, panels, and control circuits.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on facility equipment, production machinery, and building systems.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, and electrical components.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Replace or repair wiring, conduit, breakers, switches, and other electrical hardware.
- Maintain electrical components of HVAC systems, compressors, pumps, and building utilities.
- Support facility upgrades, expansions, and equipment installations.
- Ensure all electrical work meets NEC, OSHA, and facility safety standards.
- Assist with energy efficiency improvements and electrical load management.
- Follow all LOTO, arc-flash, and electrical safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and system updates.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical rooms, panels, and facility systems.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Support audits, compliance checks, and facility safety initiatives.
- Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues impacting production.
- Collaborate with maintenance technicians, engineers, and supervisors to resolve electrical problems quickly.
- Assist with equipment moves, line changes, and new machinery installations.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance and operations teams when needed.
Essential Skills
- 3–5+ years of experience as an Industrial or Facilities Electrician in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, industrial electrical systems, and safety practices.
- Experience with 3‑phase power, motor controls, VFDs, and control circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with PLCs, automation equipment, and building systems (preferred).
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, megohm meters, and circuit analyzers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of hand tools, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, hydraulics, installation, and schematic interpretation.
- Experience in electrical maintenance and repair.

Work Environment
The position operates on a 2-2-3 schedule, specifically during the third shift from 5 PM to 5 AM. Employees will work in an industrial environment with exposure to various technologies, including PLCs and automation equipment, while adhering to standard safety protocols.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Villa Rica, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
