SCS Interiors is growing and has an opening for a CNC Machine Operator to join our team!

POSITION SUMMARY: The individual in this position works with other members of the SCS Interiors production staff to complete orders in a precise and timely manner. Maintaining on-time delivery and efficient workflow starts with the CNC Operator(s). The primary responsibility for this individual is to cut and/or sew leather, carpet, vinyl, foam and other materials on the Gerber or Richpeace according to specified processes with a focus on quality and efficiency. This includes the proper layout of the pattern before cutting to minimize wasting material and/or to avoid material defects. This person also completes routine care to the equipment. This individual may work with leather products including the cutting of leather, proper layout of leather goods, and accessory finishing, as needed.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain the proper material (i.e. carpet, leather, vinyl, foam, etc.) to cut/sew specified parts.
  • Inspect the material to identify flaws, if any.
  • Using the digitized pattern, prepare the material and pattern to maximize the use of the material but avoiding flaws.
  • Complete the order including any First Article or First Piece check and stack the cut parts as directed.
  • Maintain the machine, including an adequate supply of materials used in the operation.
  • Oversee the cutting/sewing process, make adjustments throughout each job, catch mistakes as they happen and takenecessary measures to eliminate errors.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain current digitized patterns per the directions of the Product Designer.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to read, write, and understand written and oral English instructions
  • Regular on-site attendance is required
  • Able to use equipment and tools necessary for the position responsibilities, including but not limited to CNC cutting/sewing machines and a computer.
  • Able to follow directions for material processing and project completion
  • Has manual dexterity for detailed cutting or hand work
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Values precision and understands the quality standards
  • Able to adjust to rapid change in timelines, order priorities, and other parameters impacting quality delivery of all orders
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to repeatedly lift 50lbs and occasionally lift up to 75-100 pounds

SALARY: Starting at $24.00-$26.50/hr with set milestones for growth in role and responsibilities (~6 months, 1 year, 18 months, etc).
