Job Title: Shuffleboard Coordinator
Department: Recreation
Reports To: Supervisor or Director of Recreation
Start Date: May – September; Seasonal
Salary: $17.00/hour
Position Summary: Under the Direction of the Recreation Director, the Shuffleboard Coordinator is a team lead of the Shuffleboard staff, communicates organizational needs, provides guidance, support and coordination of daily operation and activities at Lakeside’s Shuffleboard Courts. The coordinator is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the shuffleboard facilities and grounds. This position is the primary liaison between seasonal shuffleboard staff and the Director of Recreation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the mission of Lakeside Chautauqua and a culture of belonging at the Shuffleboard Courts
- Provides excellent customer service to ensure high quality customer experience and satisfaction. Works to resolve all related issues tactfully, effectively, in a timely manner. Ensures a safe facility and welcoming atmosphere for all guests and staff of the Courts.
- Oversee daily shuffleboard court usage, operations, programs, special events, including lessons and special groups programming.
- Organizes, performs and maintains the cleanliness of the facilities, courts and equipment.
- Maintains required signage stating safety rules, facility hours and regulations
- Maintains an inventory of all programs, concessions, maintenance equipment and first aid supplies
- Maintains staff rotations, schedules and break periods
- Works to ensure all facilities and equipment are clean, organized and in good working conditions. Communicates immediately any facility maintenance, equipment needs or work orders
- Collaborates with Maintenance in coordinating opening and closing tasks each season
- Monitors court time and usage during peak times to ensure availability to all visitors
- Knows and is able to communicate the rules of how to play shuffleboard.
- Attends Supervisor meetings and provides reports (as requested) weekly with Director of Recreation
- Effectively carries out Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and skillfully respond to all first aid situations
- Reviews and signs off on all incident reports and submit them to the Director of Recreation and HR within the same day
- Communicates and coordinate all weather and emergency related closures of the courts with the Director of Recreation and Safety and Security Department if needed
- Oversees that all Lakeside Chautauqua, Departmental, and Facilities rules and regulations are adhered to; Interacts with facility and guests to ensure safe utilization and adherence to policies and procedures
- Manage cash drawers and reconcile daily and follows Lakeside daily deposit procedure
- Assists Lakeside Chautauqua guests with various shuffleboard related tasks.
- Update and manage “Downtime Duties” checklist
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Recreation
Season Pass Eligibility:
Employees are eligible for a season pass provided they work a minimum of 24 hours per week during the season; employees receiving Lakeside provided housing are required to work a minimum of 32 hours per week. Season passes are for employment use only and must be returned on the employee’s last day of employment.
Qualifications:
- A responsible high school student or equivalent
- Customer service experience preferred but not required

- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, climb or balance. Specific vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are required. Must be able to lift heavy equipment and material up to 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to climb ladders.
