A critical care nursing opportunity is available for experienced RNs skilled in stepdown unit care, located in Fulton, MO. This contract position offers the chance to apply advanced nursing skills in a dynamic clinical environment focused on patients recovering from surgical, medical, neurological, and complex conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse patient population requiring careful monitoring and specialized interventions.
- Administer and titrate vasoactive drips including neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem.
- Provide advanced line management, including IV insertion, PICC/central line management, dialysis fistula, and arterial line care.
- Utilize cardiac skills such as 12-lead EKG acquisition, sheath removal, and cardioversion as needed.
- Deliver airway management including CPAP/BiPAP support and tracheostomy care.
- Oversee pain management with epidural/PCA pumps and care for feeding tubes and wound vac systems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Adapt to unit floating assignments in a fast-paced, stepdown setting.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with experience in stepdown or critical care nursing.
- Proficiency in vascular access and management techniques.
- Familiarity with cardiac procedures and telemetry.
- Skilled in airway and respiratory support equipment.
- Ability to manage complex medication drips and pain control devices.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient management skills.
