Job Title: AR/Collections Specialist – Legal Billing
Location: Fully Remote (Law Firm Based in Los Angeles, CA)
Salary: $65,000–$75,000/year (Based on Experience)
Job Type: Direct Hire
Overview:
A well-established law firm headquartered in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced AR/Collections Specialist with a strong background in legal billing to join their accounting team. This fully remote, direct hire opportunity is ideal for someone with law firm experience who is well-versed in billing guidelines, client portals, and insurance reimbursement processes.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage accounts receivable and collections for a high-volume legal billing department

Generate and review pre-bills, finalize invoices, and ensure timely submission to clients or insurance portals

Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances with clients, insurance carriers, and third-party payers

Coordinate with attorneys and staff to resolve billing discrepancies or client questions

Submit billing through electronic systems such as Bill4Time, Legal Tracker, CounselLink, or similar

Reconcile payments and apply them accurately to client accounts

Prepare reports and summaries for management on collection status and outstanding AR

Maintain strong, professional client communication while adhering to billing guidelines and deadlines
Requirements:

3+ years of experience in AR/collections within a law firm environment (required)

Legal billing software experience (e.g., Timeslips, Elite, Aderant, Clio, etc.)

Familiarity with insurance billing or e-billing platforms (preferred)

Strong Excel skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision
