Job Summary
We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team! We are looking for someone who wants to help us build up our program! This will be a part time positon to work toward full time. As a NP you will be working in the office, during training, using telemedicine to provide Psychiatric evaluations and medication management to clients strugggeling with Mental health, homelessness and Substance Use Disorders. This will be a mostly remote position after training is completed. While this position will not be in the mobile model, our mission mainly focuses on the Mobile Clinic, we travel to homeless shelters, transitional houses, community agencies and more to break the gaps of care in primary care and mental health. You will be managing a changing caseload of patients every day who suffer from a variety of substance use disorders and mental illnesses. You will be assessing their needs, ordering or performing tests, interpreting results, and offering diagnoses, prescriptions, and referrals, as needed. In addition, you will be managing patient reporting and charting, and assisting our other providers as needed with difficult cases. We do NOT prescribe controlled substances.

Responsibilities

  • Offer medical advice and service to all clients in our office practice, including diagnosing issues and illnesses, prescribing appropriate medications, and offering referrals as needed to other specialists
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations
  • Manage non-controlled psychiatric medicaitons
  • Order or perform tests as needed, and analyze results in a timely manner to offer diagnosis
  • Manage a reasonable patient caseload while providing exceptional care
  • Properly complete all appropriate paperwork for each patient seen and maintain accurate records
  • Participate in ongoing training and support through conferences and events to continue to offer the best, up to date care for every patient
  • Assist in reviewing additional patient charts as needed and offer medical assistance or advice

Qualifications

  • All licensing and certification required to perform medicine within the state of Michigan
  • Graduation from an NP program with expereience in psychiatric evaluations and medications
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to provide exceptional care to each and every patient
