Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:30pm, Friday 7:30am-2:00pm
Job Summary:
Procures and plans the materials and outside services as assigned to support manufacturing production and machinery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Procurement and inventory planning responsibility for assigned higher expenditure inventory and non-inventory commodities.
- Processes and issues purchase orders for indirect and MRO expenditures according to company policies.
- Reviews ERP purchase suggestions for jobs needing outside services, i.e. powder coating, plating, e-coat, stripping, blasting etc.
- Execute supplier scorecards to measure performance and use the data to drive improvement and reduce the total cost of ownership.
- Primary contact with suppliers in communicating and coordinating quotes, order expedites, cancellations, push outs, as well as resolving any quality issues.
- Developing and implementing a sourcing strategy for assigned commodities to ensure the supply base will keep up with company growth.
- Finding and developing new suppliers and ensuring the optimal number of suppliers are qualified for the assigned commodities.
- Understanding trends in raw materials that drive overall price for responsible commodities – manage increases and decreases effectively – assist in implementing and negotiating contracts.
- Effectively negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best cost and implement programs that optimize inventory turns and working capital.
- Ensuring policies and procedures are followed and maintained as improvements are made.
- Build and develop relationships across multiple departments and sites to ensure the procurement strategies support the overall company strategies.
- Build and develop relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and statistical skills are required.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree in business or related field, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in purchasing or supply chain role, experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Familiarity with metal coatings (powder coating, plating, e-coating, wet paint etc.) is preferred. Understanding of metals industry and processes preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in an OEM or job shop required.
- Previous commodity experience with a minimum annual expenditure responsibility of
$10 million required.

- Computer skills required, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point
