Job DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a skilled Electrical Test Technician to perform comprehensive testing, inspection, and analysis of electrical equipment and components. This role involves preparing and configuring instrument transformers, executing specialized tests, calibrating meters, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background, hands-on testing experience, and the ability to work in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare instrument transformers for testing, including wiring and cable connections, ensuring a safe testing environment.

Utilize blueprints, diagrams, and engineering specifications to set up and conduct tests.

Operate test instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, ohmmeters, bridges, oscilloscopes, and wave analyzers.

Perform and analyze tests including: ratio and polarity, DC resistance, impedance/load loss, insulation resistance, induced/applied potential, power factor, heat run, corona, impulse, noise, voltage/current regulator, and final inspections.

Configure test circuits as needed and calibrate testing equipment.

Identify and reject non-conforming materials and assemblies.

Maintain testing schedules to meet customer demands.

Prepare and submit certified test report drafts to engineering.

Ensure accuracy of work performed, including review of peer work.

Perform repairs on test equipment and fabricate/install components as needed.

Apply general electrical knowledge to ensure safe operation of testing systems.

Support post-testing activities, including equipment removal and cleanup.

Participate in Continuous Improvement and Kaizen initiatives.

Train and mentor other personnel when required.

Operate cranes, lifts, and other material-handling equipment.

Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams as needed.

Accurately record job activity using Factory Track.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications & Attributes

Minimum 2 years of electrical testing experience in heavy industries, utilities, or related fields (or equivalent education/experience).

Prior experience as an electrician, service technician, or working with electrical equipment.

Proficient in using electrical test instruments and inspection tools.

Ability to interpret and apply engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.

Strong communication skills (written and verbal).

Computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite.

Ability to work at varying heights (6+ feet) and perform physical tasks as required.

Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.

Pay Details: $27.00 to $33.00 per hour
