Job Title: Quality Inspector – Aerospace Manufacturing
Location: San Diego, CA
Shifts Available: 1st and 2nd Shift
Compensation: Up to $40/hour DOE
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Job Overview:
An established aerospace and defense manufacturer in the San Diego area is seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector with experience in precision manufacturing. This position supports production quality control and ensures all products meet industry and customer requirements. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in aerospace inspection, with knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, and GD&T.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections
- Use standard and advanced precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances
- Maintain inspection documentation in compliance with AS9100 and ISO standards
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing setting (aerospace or defense preferred)
- Strong understanding of GD&T and technical drawings
- Experience with AS9102 first article inspections
- Familiarity with composite materials or honeycomb structures is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Knowledge of quality systems, inspection procedures, and documentation standards
Shift Schedule:
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
