Requirements:
The Caliday Teacher's Aide works directly with the Program Director and School Age Teacher in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children; assisting in the implementation of activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment.
Essential Functions:
- Assists with the management of the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
- Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.
- Assists with the implementation of activities that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum.
- Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
- Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
- Maintains open and effective communication with team, parents and school community.
- Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.
- Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and/or Program Director to resolve.
- Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.
Education/Experience:
- The ideal candidate will have some experience in the childcare field.
