About the Role:
The Logistics Manager will have responsibility over the warehouse operations (receiving, shipping, material handling/kitting, cycle counting, packaging/partmark) at 2 California-based (San Jose and Stockton) Vantedge Medical sites. Primary responsibilities will be inventory accuracy, warehouse design/storage, efficiencies/material flow, labor/workload management, people management, and talent development.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Accuracy
- Lead site inventory accuracy including cycle count program, root cause/corrective action, and transactional discipline
- Warehouse Design and Storage
- Design and implement most efficient and safe material handling equipment and storage solutions

- Conduct physical plan-for-every-part optimizing warehouse space
- Efficiencies and Material Flow
- Optimize inventory flow and management through data-driven decision making
- Analyze workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements
- Drive implementation of warehouse best practices and continuous improvement
- Labor/Workload Management and Performance Monitoring
- Coordinate and monitor all shipments to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries
- Daily management of operations including productivity, workflow, and staffing, needed to meet established output and customer service levels
- Utilize dispatch reporting, tier management, and KPIs to drive real-time feedback loop to department
- Manage freight selection and spend including in-house drivers/trucks
- People Management
- Responsible for warehouse workforce management including recruitment, development, retention, and performance of associates
- Lead and manage warehouse staff through full cycle performance management processes, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Provide a safe working environment for all associates through compliance, education, and reinforcement of policies and procedures
- Talent Development
- Coaches and develops warehouse talent bringing a structured approach to talent development
- Regularly reviews warehouse org to identify needs and gaps; acts quickly on identified changes
- Defines roles and responsibilities, sets clear expectations, and supports team in conflict resolution
- Trains and coaches Supervisors/Leads on warehouse best practices and leadership
- Develops appropriate standard work and SOPs related to job duties
- Identify and develop tools and/or accountability methodologies to ensure process adherence
Requirements / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, operations management, or related field required
- 10 years’ experience in warehouse operations
- 5 years’ experience leading direct labor force
- Prior experience implementing warehouse best practices
- Strong communicator internally and externally; able to address and resolve problems and conflict with ease
- Ability to strongly influence teams cross-functionally
- Ability to use data and standardize the use of data to drive improved decision-making
- Ability to travel up to 10% primarily to Stockton site
