Job Title: Registered Nurse – Acute Medical/Surgical
Specialty: Nursing
Location: Fall River Mills, CA
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour Days (4:45 AM – 5:15 PM)
Salary: $65-$70/hr (based on experience)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to provide quality patient care in an acute medical-surgical setting. The RN will deliver safe, effective, and courteous nursing services under the supervision of the Med/Surg Care Lead or Nursing Supervisor. This position requires professionalism, clinical competence, and the ability to provide patient-centered care within a rural critical access environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and prioritize care based on condition.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report changes in patient condition to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to infection control and safety standards.
- Provide patient and family education regarding care and treatments.
- Supervise LVNs and non-professional staff, providing guidance and support.
- Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, and continuing education.
- Respond to emergency situations and perform resuscitative measures as required.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate smooth patient transfers and procedures.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current, active California RN license (required).
- Current CPR certification (required).
- ACLS certification required within one year of hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of Med-Surg experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to compassionate care.
Working Conditions:
- Must be flexible and able to work beyond normal hours when required.
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 20 lbs), and move intermittently.
- Must function independently and work effectively with staff, patients, and families.
