Environmental Health & Safety Specialist | Caledonia, MI
Salary Range: $60,000 - $92,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Investigate accidents and near misses, determining root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Deliver EHS training programs to employees, fostering a culture of safety.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate EHS records and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in EHS roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
- Proven ability to conduct hazard assessments, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train employees and collaborate with all levels of the organization.
- Experience with EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Bonus Qualifications
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) / Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) for EHS metrics
- Bilingual in Spanish or other languages prevalent in manufacturing workforces
- Experience with contractor safety management programs and pre-qualification processes
