Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An exciting opportunity is available for a full-time Occupational Therapist to support students in a K-12 educational setting in Chimayo, NM. This contract position spans the 2025-2026 school year, running tentatively from August 4, 2025, through May 29, 2026. The role is ideal for a licensed OT professional passionate about fostering student development and enhancing educational outcomes through therapeutic intervention.
Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to K-12 students, addressing individual needs to promote academic and functional success.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and educational staff to support student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute professional expertise to interdisciplinary planning.
Qualifications:
- Valid and active New Mexico State Occupational Therapy licensure.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in writing comprehensive IEPs.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to work effectively within the school environment.
- Commitment to supporting diverse student needs within the K-12 range.
- Ability to manage caseload and documentation efficiently.
