Position Overview: This position will be responsible for various weekly tasks to include reconciling purchases and production runs, and updating product costs. This individual will also be challenged with finding ways to improve processes and reporting. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller.

Compensation: $70,000 to $85,000

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of The Role:

  • Update weekly product costs, reconcile, and enter daily productions, create, and modify new products into production/accounting system.
  • Work with processors to streamline information exchange.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the accounting team.
  • Improve and develop reporting to help drive change in the business.
  • Ensure production data is accurately reflected in financials.
  • Manages the inventory reconciliation process for assigned locations.
  • Assist in performing analysis on production and sales data.
  • Enter data into computer spread sheets, ledgers, worksheets, and other forms.
  • Compare data contained in a variety of financial records to detect errors/discrepancies.
  • Assists Lead/Sr. Production Analyst and Controller in performing and analyzing Beef cut outs, yield analysis, cost analysis.
  • Work on special projects for management.
  • Validates and processes receipts of purchased material and associated freight.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies with Co-packers which may require invoicing co-packing plants.
  • Verify and approve co-pack fee and product purchase vendor invoices for pricing and quantities.
  • Production Analyst
    • Establishes and enters new product information for approvals and input into the ERP system.
    • Performs sales data related responsibilities and analysis as assigned.
    • Coordinate activities associated with the sales posting process by working with all production accountants to ensure the process is working efficiently.
    • Perform monthly closing reconciliations and GL entries as assigned.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Needed To Be Successful:

  • 4-6 Years of previous relevant experience are required.
  • 2 Years of beef industry experience is required.
  • Associate's Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance

Specialized Skills Required:

  • Ability to work well in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to recommend and implement process improvements
  • Ability to work independently and balance multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills.
  • Experience developing and reporting various income statements. Experience with cost accounting for a manufacturing company is required.
  • Experience with ERP systems and/or Qlik tools is required.
