Care for critically ill patients in a dynamic Intensive Care Unit specializing in medical ICU cases. This contract role offers the opportunity to contribute your expertise in a 20-bed unit with a dedicated team, providing high-quality care to patients requiring complex interventions.
Location: Katy, TX area
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to ICU patients with low to moderate acuity levels, maintaining a patient ratio of 2:1 or 3:1.
- Manage ventilators and perform drip titrations safely and effectively.
- Perform and assist with specialized procedures including intubations, central line management, tracheostomies, chest tube care, and endoscopy support.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement patient care plans.
- Use electronic medical records (EMR) systemExpanseto document patient information accurately.
- Adhere to the units guidelines, dress code (royal blue scrubs), and scheduling requirements, including approximately four weekend shifts per rotation.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license with Medical ICU experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications mandatory.
- Proven ability to manage ventilator and medication drip titrations.
- Experience with critical care equipment such as Baxter pumps preferred.
- Strong team player with a flexible attitude and commitment to quality patient care.
