Job DescriptionSalary: $50-53/hour

In2Great! Pediatric Therapy is seeking a dynamic Transitional Occupational Therapist (OT) focused on helping teenagers develop the skills they need to navigate crucial life transitions, such as moving from school to work or from childhood to adulthood. This therapist would be involved with assessing the clients' current abilities, developing personalized treatment plans, and providing interventions to enhance independence and participation in meaningful activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify occupational performance deficits and establish individualized treatment goals.

Treatment Planning and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focusing on areas like self-care, work/school skills, social participation, and community integration.

Transition Planning:

  • Collaborate with clients, families, and other professionals to facilitate a smooth transition into new environments (e.g., school, work, home).

Skill Development:

  • Teach and facilitate the development of skills necessary for successful participation in daily life activities and chosen occupations.

Environmental Adaptation:

  • Recommend and implement strategies to modify environments (e.g., home, school, workplace) to support the client's participation and independence.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals, educators, and family members to ensure coordinated and effective care.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client assessments, treatment plans, progress, and outcomes.

School-to-work transition:

  • Helping high school students with disabilities develop job-seeking skills, workplace readiness, and strategies for managing challenges in a work environment.



General Responsibilities

Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of client care.

  • Staying up to date on best practices and evidence-based interventions in occupational therapy.
  • Participating in professional development activities to maintain licensure and enhance skills.
  • Adhering to ethical and legal guidelines for occupational therapy practice.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in occupational therapy.
  • State licensure or registration as an occupational therapist.
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
  • Experience in both school-based and clinic-based settings is preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team.
