Job Title: Medical Accounts Receivable Collector

Addison Group is actively recruiting on behalf of a well-respected healthcare organization for a Medical Accounts Receivable Collector. This is a contract to hire opportunity with a mission-driven organization focused on delivering high-quality care and maintaining strong values across its operations.
Job Description:
The AR Collector will support insurance follow-up and revenue recovery functions, ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement from commercial and government payors. This individual will work a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and patient accounts to ensure full resolution and payment.
- Review and correct accounts with improper coding or misapplied payments.
- Resolve denied or rejected claims by initiating appeals or resubmitting corrected claims.
- Conduct account audits to verify balances, correct errors, and secure complete reimbursement.
- Respond to inbound and outbound correspondence, calls, and web-based inquiries regarding account status.
- Identify and resolve issues related to overpayments, adjustments, and necessary refunds.
- Document actions and communications thoroughly within the system.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any discrepancies affecting reimbursement.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in business, finance, or healthcare a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing, collections, or insurance follow-up.
- Familiarity with commercial insurance and Managed Medi-Cal strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of EOBs, CPT/ICD coding, and claim processing.
- Proficient in Epic EMR system or similar platforms.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
Additional Details:
- Type of Assignment: Contract to hire
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Clearance Requirements: Background check, 10-panel drug screen, TB test, MMRV immunization verification, OIG screening
