Job SummaryThe Manual Machinist will set up and operate manual machining equipment to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual machines such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure quality standards are met
- Perform basic machine maintenance and keep work area clean and safe
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments
- Follow all safety and quality procedures
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist (preferred)
- Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills
- Experience working with various metals and materials
- Ability to hold close tolerances
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
