Salary: $100,000–$125,000
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Nutritionist to translate nutrition science into practical business solutions that support product innovation, portfolio management, and consumer communication. This role partners closely with R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, and Corporate Affairs to ensure nutrition standards are consistently applied while supporting evidence-based nutrition initiatives across the U.S. and Canada.
Reporting under general supervision, you will manage nutrition analyses, support nutrition labeling, provide scientific guidance, and activate global nutrition strategies within local markets.
Key Responsibilities
Nutrition Strategy & Business Impact
- Activate global nutrition strategies within local markets for internal stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and consumers.
- Support priority nutrition initiatives including:
- Metabolic health
- Heart health
- Cholesterol management
- Plant sterols
- Healthy fats
- Plant-based and dairy nutrition
- Nutrient density
- Apply scientific judgment to nutrition analyses and ensure consistent application of nutrition standards in partnership with the Central Nutrition team.
- Advise Brand and Marketing teams on nutrition substantiation, claims support, and consumer communication.
- Localize and deploy global nutrition communication toolkits and messaging.
- Build nutrition capability across internal teams through education, training, and scientific support.
- Monitor changes in U.S. and Canadian nutrition regulations and voluntary guidance, recommending appropriate actions.
- Coordinate scientific input with internal and external experts.
- Support Healthcare Professional (HCP) programs by preparing scientific content, evidence summaries, and technical responses.
Innovation
- Provide local nutrition insights to the Central Nutrition Team.
- Support nutrition claim adaptation for local markets.
- Translate complex nutrition science into practical product and portfolio recommendations.
- Monitor nutrition trends, consumer insights, competitor activity, and emerging scientific research.
Communication
- Serve as the nutrition business partner across cross-functional teams including:
- R&D
- Marketing
- Legal
- Corporate Affairs
- Communications
- Communicate nutrition science clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop content for the Flora Health & Nutrition Hub.
- Support nutrition communications across digital and brand channels.

Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Master's degree, PhD, Registered Dietitian (RD), or equivalent advanced qualification in Nutrition or a related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in scientific, clinical, or applied nutrition roles, preferably within the FMCG/CPG industry.
- Strong understanding of nutrition science and its practical application.
- Experience with U.S. and Canadian nutrition labeling requirements, health claims, and regulatory frameworks.
- Ability to analyze nutrition data and benchmark product portfolios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex science into clear, consumer-friendly messaging.
- Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals or scientific experts.
Preferred
- Experience in nutrition science, medical affairs, or regulatory affairs within an FMCG/CPG environment.
- Plant-based and/or dairy industry experience.
- Nutrition marketing experience.

- Advanced knowledge of:
- Nutrition science
- U.S. and Canadian dietary guidelines
- Public health nutrition programs
- Nutrition scoring methodologies
- Passion for communicating evidence-based nutrition science, particularly around dietary fats and culinary nutrition.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized and able to work independently.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working in matrix organizations.
- Curious and proactive with a desire to stay current on emerging nutrition research.
Travel
Occasional travel required.
