Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled CNC Mill Machinist II to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is ideal for an individual who wants to expand beyond machine operation and develop advanced setup and CNC programming skills. The successful candidate will work in a clean, well-equipped facility and have opportunities for long-term career growth, including exposure to Mastercam programming and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete CNC mill setups, including tooling, work holding, and offsets.
- Set up and prove out new and existing jobs to ensure quality and production efficiency.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Maintain tight tolerances and ensure consistent product quality.
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues and implement process improvements.
- Operate CNC milling equipment for production runs.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments.
- Support production activities, including deburring, material preparation, and shop organization.
- Collaborate with team members to improve manufacturing processes and productivity.
Growth Opportunities
As experience and proficiency increase, responsibilities may include:
- Learning and developing CNC programming skills using Mastercam.
- Assisting with toolpath creation, feeds and speeds optimization, and cycle time reduction.
- Progressing toward independent setup and programming responsibilities.
- Supporting continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Setup experience or a strong desire to learn machine setup procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Machining Technology or a related field.
- Equivalent hands-on machining experience.
- Exposure to Mastercam or other CAM software.
- Experience with process improvement and troubleshooting in a CNC environment.
