We are recruiting a Certified Medical Assistant for our clients in El Paso, Tx. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for both administrative and clinical tasks ensuring the smooth front and back-end operations of the clinic. This is a great opportunity for someone who is compassionate and interested in directly supporting medical staff on a day-to-day basis.
The typical schedule for this position is Monday – Sunday, 7am-6pm (within hours). The hourly rate is $16.87.
Responsibilities:
· Assists Licensed Healthcare Professionals during patient exams as needed.
· Ensure patient data is obtained accurately and documented.
· Ensure patients are provided with verbal and written information related to any type of education or orders the Licensed Healthcare Professional has given to the patient. Communicates to patients any type of instructions related to prescribed medication (i.e. where and how prescription can be picked up).
· Ensures exam and triage rooms are neat and clean
· Ensures adequate and appropriate medical supplies are always available and accessible and medical supplies are not expired.
· Utilizes EMR properly, obtains and records accurately all information for all patients. Handles medical records with confidentiality following proper protocol.
· Ensures medical equipment is utilized appropriately and maintained clean per manufacture guidelines. Communicates to supervisors of any malfunctions that need to be taken care of.
· Administers immunizations utilizing proper technics
· Performs blood draws, performs and handles specimen collection for various purposes and as instructed by policies and procedures by the department.
· Performs EKGs, hearing and vision screening, pulmonary function testing and DOT Physicals if necessary.
· Stocks sample medications, handles prescriptions and ensures patient medication history is accurate
· Conducts Patient Call Backs.
· Assists with the accurate completion of ABN's or LMRP as requested.
· Maintains referral tracking system as requested.
· Provides care and/or service appropriate for the age of all patients served
Qualifications:
· One year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
· Certified Medical Assistant Certificate required.
· CPR training required.
· High School diploma or equivalent required.
· Completion of Medical Assistant course required.
Skills:
· Knowledge of ICD10, CPT4 and HCPCS coding related to clinic procedures and physician billing.
· Highly effective communication skills.
· CRT proficiency and ability to type.
· Knows vaccine requirements for patients, newborns through adulthood for assigned areas.
· Knowledge in patient flow process, applicable per Clinic.
· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
· Knowledge of THS/ CHIP.
· Ability to document EMR
