Job DescriptionMedical Assistant (Radiation Oncology) - Los Gatos, CA
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Location: Los Gatos, CA
Opportunity Overview:
Medix is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (MA) to support our brand-new Radiation Oncology team in Los Gatos, CA. This vital role assists radiation oncologists, nurses, and radiation therapists in delivering safe, efficient, and patient-centered care in a dynamic oncology setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Room patients and record vital signs (temperature, BP, pulse, weight, SpO₂)
- Assist with patient histories, medication lists, and nursing assessments
- Prepare and maintain exam/treatment rooms, ensuring infection control standards
- Schedule and coordinate labs, imaging, and follow-up appointments
- Obtain and upload outside medical records and imaging into the EHR
- Support patient education as directed by nurses or providers
- Assist during exams, simulations, or procedures
- Provide front desk support (check-in, insurance verification, calls)
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold a culture of compassionate care
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current MA certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of clinical back-office experience (oncology a plus)
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
