Full Circle is seeking an experienced R&D Manager for their growing team!
Job Summary:
The R&D Manager will oversee the research and development efforts focused on enhancing lithium-ion battery performance, with a specific focus on chemical formulation. This role requires strong technical expertise, extensive experience in patenting and intellectual property management, and the ability to lead a high-performing R&D team.
The R&D Manager will drive innovation through close collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and customers, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.
Technical Expertise:
- Utilize deep knowledge of chemical processes to formulate solutions that enhance lithium-ion battery performance.
- Stay current with industry advancements and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in battery technology.
- Patenting and Intellectual Property Management:
- Develop strategies for patenting new discoveries and technologies to protect company's innovations.
- Manage and expand the intellectual property portfolio, ensuring valuable innovations are safeguarded.
Customer Response and Technical Problem Solving:
- Respond promptly to customer requests, providing expert technical insights and solutions.
- Lead the resolution of technical challenges in both field and lab settings.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of R&D engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the team to drive successful outcomes.
Agile R&D Management:
- Implement agile methodologies to enhance responsiveness to market demands and technological advancements.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of R&D projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Technical Center Management: - Manage the operations of the technical R&D center, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align R&D efforts with business goals.
Global Reporting: - Provide regular updates to global R&D leadership, contributing to the overall innovation strategy.
- Offer insights and recommendations to shape the future direction of GEOs technological development.
Collaboration with External Partners: - Build partnerships with external research institutions, industry experts, and collaborators to leverage collective expertise.
- Participate in industry conferences and forums to stay connected with the latest developments.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 15 years of proven experience in lithium-ion battery R&D, with a focus on chemical formulation.
Strong understanding of patenting processes and intellectual property management.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage an agile R&D team.
Agile mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving industry demands.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges in both lab and field environments.
