Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialty infusion pharmacy in Northern Virginia seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician skilled in patient care coordination, sterile compounding, and pharmacy operations. This temp-to-hire opportunity offers an immediate start and the potential for permanent placement after 23 months. The position supports a hybrid workflow, combining patient-centered coordination with hands-on pharmacy and clean room responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient referrals and intake documentation efficiently
- Verify insurance benefits and assist with prior authorizations and payer communications
- Coordinate therapy initiation and medication delivery, communicating with providers, patients, and clinical staff
- Maintain accurate patient records and track therapy progress
- Assist with prescription processing and dispensing within the pharmacy
- Support sterile compounding preparation, clean room operations, and ensure compliance with USP 797 guidelines
- Assist with inventory management and medication preparation
- Collaborate closely with pharmacists to ensure precise order fulfillment
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacy Technician registration or license, preferably Virginia
- PTCB certification strongly preferred
- Experience in specialty pharmacy, infusion pharmacy, or hospital settings is advantageous
- Familiarity with prior authorization and insurance processing
- Hands-on experience with sterile compounding and clean room environments
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to integrate quickly and start immediately
