Job DescriptionSalary: $40,000+ (based on experience and education)
Behavioral Health Associates (BHA) is an educational organization. We offer an academic learning environment integrated with behavior support services for students diagnosed with emotional/behavioral disorders to empower the students in overcoming challenges and creating new stories in their lives.
We currently have an anticipated opening for a full-time Educational Therapist for our new PRIDE Program at Pottsville Academy, slated to open at the beginning of the 2026-2027 School Year!

JOB GOAL
Provide direct counseling and academic/behavioral support to meet the needs of students in a therapeutic and educational setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide therapeutic and academic services to students.
- Create and implement weekly lesson plans.
- Utilize non-violent crisis prevention intervention techniques when necessary.
- Assist with delivery of academic instruction.
- Document student observations/data.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of an environment which is non-threatening, safe, restorative, and where the students feel respected, accepted, and a part of the school community.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Be responsible for equipment and materials for the program.
- Respond positively to supervision and suggestions for improvement.
- Have current lesson plans and appropriate materials available for use by any substitute, if necessary.
- Work to stay current in subject and content area of instructional techniques.
- Other duties assigned by Administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors Degree in Human Services or related field.
- Experience working in a school setting or mental health setting, preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff and leadership team, while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Positively represent and promote BHA Services.
- Maintain confidentiality in all matters.
- Work both independently and as a team.
- Communicate effectively utilizing both written and oral communication.
- Basic computer literacy with Microsoft/Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
- Effectively utilize technology for communication and reporting needs.
