Job Title: Technician / Installer – Mobility & Accessibility Equipment (Part-Time)
Location: Evansville, IN
Job Summary
The Technician/Installer is responsible for assembling, installing, servicing, and repairing mobility and accessibility equipment both in-store and at customer locations. This role requires mechanical aptitude, customer service skills, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
• Install stairlifts, ramps, grab bars, and bath safety products in residential settings
• Assemble and configure scooters, wheelchairs, and lift recliners per specifications
• Conduct site assessments to ensure proper fit, safety, and compliance
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on mobility equipment
• Perform routine maintenance on scooters, power chairs, and lift systems
• Maintain service records and warranty documentation
• Deliver equipment to homes, clinics, and senior centers with professionalism
• Track parts usage and assist with inventory management
• Maintain a clean, organized workbench and service area
• Assist with showroom setup and product demonstrations as needed
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or mobility equipment service preferred and be comfortable working in homes and interacting with customers
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to lift and maneuver equipment safely (up to 75 lbs. with assistance)
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience with stairlift or ramp installation a plus
• Empathetic, patient, and detail-oriented
