Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS Oncology RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide expert nursing care on an oncology med-surg unit during the night shift in a dynamic and compassionate hospital setting. This 13-week contract opportunity is ideal for an RN with solid inpatient med-surg experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values teamwork. Flexible guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 per week are available to suit your preferences, with no more than every other weekend required.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year of inpatient med-surg nursing experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Oncology experience and ONS chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
  • Proficient in medication administration, physical assessment, and EMR documentation (EPIC)
  • Ability to float within the med-surg service line as needed
  • Flu vaccination required for Nov 1Apr 1 travelers; declinations are not accepted

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
  • Provide compassionate care to oncology patients, medical patients, neuro overflow cases, and end-of-life patients
  • Maintain patient confidentiality, safety, and rights according to facility standards and nursing protocols
  • Utilize specialized equipment such as Alaris pumps, NOVA glucometers, and telemetry monitors effectively

Schedule/Hours:

  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
  • Guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Weekend shifts scheduled based on unit needs (no more than every other weekend)
  • Call as required by facility
