Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS Oncology RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide expert nursing care on an oncology med-surg unit during the night shift in a dynamic and compassionate hospital setting. This 13-week contract opportunity is ideal for an RN with solid inpatient med-surg experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and values teamwork. Flexible guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 per week are available to suit your preferences, with no more than every other weekend required.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient med-surg nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Oncology experience and ONS chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
- Proficient in medication administration, physical assessment, and EMR documentation (EPIC)
- Ability to float within the med-surg service line as needed
- Flu vaccination required for Nov 1Apr 1 travelers; declinations are not accepted
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
- Provide compassionate care to oncology patients, medical patients, neuro overflow cases, and end-of-life patients
- Maintain patient confidentiality, safety, and rights according to facility standards and nursing protocols
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Alaris pumps, NOVA glucometers, and telemetry monitors effectively
Schedule/Hours:
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
- Guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekend shifts scheduled based on unit needs (no more than every other weekend)
- Call as required by facility
