Texas Lung Care Associates is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with expertise in adult pulmonary disorders to join our medical team. This opportunity allows you to become an integral part of a growing healthcare facility that provides exceptional patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
- Diagnose and treat patients with pulmonary disorders based on clinical findings and established guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans, including medication management and lifestyle modifications.
- Provide patient education on managing asthma and copd, including techniques for avoiding triggers, proper use of inhaler technique, and medication usage.
- Assist in managing patients with conditions such as asthma, COPD, sleep apnea, interstitial lung disease and lung nodules
- Review all appropriate and routine laboratory results, x-rays, CT scans, and other comparable non-invasive procedures
- Collaborate on pulmonary consultations requested by other medical specialties, including emergency room physicians/hospitalist
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the supervising physician.
- Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed.
- Submit prior authorizations for prescriptions
- Respond to patient queries and refill requests
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Adhere to professional standards, ethical guidelines, and infection control protocols
Qualifications:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in the state of Texas.
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a NP/PA, preferably focusing on pulmonary disorders
- Experience in conducting patient assessments, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and healthcare professionals
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
