About the Role:

The Sonographer (EKG) performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including cardiac and vascular studies, for evaluation and treatment by the attending physician. This role provides high-quality, compassionate patient care while ensuring accurate imaging, efficient workflow, and excellent customer service in support of diagnostic services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or certified through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Ability to obtain required certification within one year of hire.
  • Current BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in cardiac, vascular, and EKG ultrasound.
  • Experience in a hospital or outpatient diagnostic imaging setting.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and digital imaging systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including cardiac and vascular studies.
  • Confirm exam orders and ensure proper patient preparation.
  • Perform age-appropriate ultrasound procedures, including vascular, abdominal, and OB/GYN studies as applicable.
  • Operate imaging and digital storage systems for image quality, archiving, and retrieval.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through professionalism, empathy, and teamwork.

Skills:

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical competency in ultrasound imaging, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and sound clinical judgment. They are able to prioritize patient care, function independently in high-stress situations, and provide compassionate care to compromised or trauma patients while maintaining a strong commitment to customer service.
