We are a Christian based, Pro-Life Pregnancy Resource Medical Clinic

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Express full agreement with Birth Choice Mission and Vision Statement, Statement of Faith, Code of Christian Conduct and Statement of Commitment.
2. Follows Personnel Handbook Conflict Resolution using Matthew 18 principles.
3. Is dependable, stable, and capable of following through on commitments.
4. Has a sincere desire to reach out to at-risk patients considering abortion.
5. Maintains a consistent life-affirming philosophy and would never refer or advise a client to have an abortion or refer for Birth Control.
6. Is licensed/registered and in good standing in the state of California as an RN. Credentialed in OB/GYN Ultrasound is a bonus.
7. Is currently certified for Basic Life Support (BLS).
8. Possesses physical stamina required for standing for long periods of time, good eyesight, or corrected vision to view images in dimmed light.
9. Shall have a health examination within 6 months prior to or within 15 days after commencing work and at least annually thereafter, if required, by a person lawfully authorized to perform such examinations.
10. Didactic course, Physics course, Hands-on ultrasound skills training and competency of skills confirmed by Medical Director for Limited OB Ultrasounds must be completed and documented.
11. Agree to have a Criminal Background Check upon hire.

4. Ability to answer phone calls and counsel clients.

9. Critical Thinking skills.
10. Self-starter who can work well independently with minimal oversight.
11. Spanish-speaking (*preferred but not required)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of the Birth Choice of San Marcos team which provides support and care to the clients, the Medical Team Member maintains professional standards of care in conformity with the Hippocratic Oath. The Medical Team Member works with other Birth Choice clinic personnel to ensure clients receive the best medical, nursing, and psychosocial care possible. As a member of Birth Choice personnel, it is expected that the Medical Team Member will attend 3 of the 4 scheduled quarterly in-service meetings.

1. Learn and become comfortable in receptionist duties to assist if necessary for staffing.
2. Becomes proficient in the use of technology (EHR, Texting platform, SharePoint).
3. Be comfortable with answering the phone, taking, and sending messages to appropriate staff.
4. Be familiar with all community resources to efficiently give information to clients.
5. Be knowledgeable of all Birth Choice programs (EWYL, Essentials, etc.) to educate clients about the services available.
6. Provide medical counseling to clients when requested via phone or video conference, document counseling session, and schedule appointments as required.
7. Ensures that the client feels welcome upon her arrival for the medical examination.
8. Performs history and physical examinations such as pregnancy tests, medical intake with vital signs and limited OB ultrasounds per Birth Choice policies.
9. Assists the Director of Medical Services in general clinical tasks as requested/directed; Monthly & Quarterly Safety checks, Medical Record release, Orders medical supplies as needed, etc.
10. Reinforces the humanity of the unborn child with the client.
11. Provides client education according to Birth Choice of San Marcos Policies and Procedures including spiritual education and wellbeing.
12. Respects confidentiality and privacy per HIPAA.
13. Ensures that OSHA and safety guidelines are followed.
14. Completes necessary client documentation in a timely manner.
15. Actively pursues opportunities for professional development through continued education and training.
16. Attends 3 of the 4 scheduled quarterly In-service meetings, including any mandatory meetings.
