Fabrication Lead | Kentwood, MI
Salary Range: $57,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and train fabrication team members on best practices and safety protocols.
- Oversee daily fabrication operations to ensure timely completion and quality control.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide production.
- Operate and maintain various fabrication equipment, including welders, plasma cutters, and press brakes.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Manage inventory of raw materials and consumables, placing orders as needed.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize fabrication processes and resolve issues.
Recommended Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of various fabrication techniques, including welding (MIG, TIG, STICK), cutting (plasma, laser, saw), forming (bending, rolling), and finishing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and mentor a team of skilled fabricators.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and quality control standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inventory management and optimizing material usage.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems for production planning and inventory management.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for reviewing designs.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or demonstrated application of lean principles.
- OSHA 30-hour certification for general industry.
- Forklift operator certification.
