Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Houston, Texas. This position is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in accounting and financial reporting. As part of a long-term contract role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the oil and gas pipeline industry.
Responsibilities:
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy across financial records.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations to maintain compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies efficiently.
• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date.
• Create and post journal entries to support financial reporting processes.
• Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions to analyze and present financial data.
• Oversee month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Work with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to streamline operations and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial audits and compliance efforts.
• Provide detailed financial reports and insights to senior management.• Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial reporting.
• Strong ability to perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Expertise in managing general ledger and journal entries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions.
• Knowledge of month-end close processes and best practices.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
