Location: Metro Detroit, MI
Compensation: Approximately $90,000 – $100,000 (based on experience)( Hourly)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Lead Technical Operations in a Growing Manufacturing Environment

Our confidential client is an established and growing manufacturer of precision industrial equipment. They are seeking an experienced Tooling Manager to lead a technical team responsible for tooling performance, process support, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing operation.

This role works closely with senior technical leadership and plays an important part in maintaining production efficiency, quality standards, and team development.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team supporting tooling and manufacturing processes

  • Oversee tooling maintenance, repair activities, and preventative maintenance programs

  • Support production operations by ensuring tooling and related equipment are ready for manufacturing needs

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to troubleshoot technical issues

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce downtime

  • Manage workflow, priorities, and resource allocation across the team

  • Maintain documentation, reporting, and operational procedures

  • Support vendor coordination and inventory oversight related to tooling and production support

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience leading teams within a manufacturing, machining, or tooling environment

  • Strong understanding of tooling systems, machining processes, and preventative maintenance

  • Experience working with CNC equipment and precision measurement tools preferred

  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop technical team members

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to balance technical responsibilities with administrative oversight

Preferred Experience

  • Background in industrial machinery or capital equipment manufacturing

  • Experience supporting production improvement initiatives

  • Engineering or technical education preferred but not required

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing setting with regular interaction on the production floor

  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Occasional travel may be required to support technical discussions or customer needs
