Position Summary/Overview
As Upper Valley Havens delivery driver, youhelp provide reliable, choice-based access to food to fellow community members. Your weekly activities support community outreach partnershipsas you transport foodto partner organizations who also help ensure that everyone gets fed.Your polite andfriendlydispositionand neat appearance allowyou torepresentthe Haventoexternal partners with professionalism and maturity.
As anidealcandidate,youare asafe and courteous driver. You bringstrong organization and communication skills. You pay goodattention to details, includingkeepingall work areas clean andtidy. Youthrive in a busy environment, work well with others to complete tasks, take the initiative to fill in slow periods with needed tasks, and are flexible to last-minute changes to the days schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, load,transport,andunloadfood to our partner sites and other area locations
- Helpkeep food programs and market spacesclean and organized
- Keepthedelivery vehicle clean and organized
- Takeonother duties as assigned
RequiredSkills & Attributes
- A valid drivers licenseanddemonstratedability tocomply withstate and local driving rules and regulations.
- Jobrequirements include passing a DOT physical and a driver background check.
- Able to pass a DOT physical and a driver backgroundcheck.
- Able to drive a cargo van
- Able to lift upto 50poundsandtowork on your feet for a5-hourshift.
- Maintain asafety-first approach.
- Willingness to learn andcomply withoperational policies, procedures, and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to interactpolitelyandcomfortably with people from a wide range of social, economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
Additional Skills & Attributes Desired
- Ability/comfort drivinga 20-footbox truck if needed.
- Ability toexecuteprogramdeliveries independently, without supervision.
- Ability tooperatea manual and an electric pallet jack (training provided).
- Ability to work occasional 8-hour days, in the absence of the Markets full-timedriver.
Education & Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years' experience with deliveries.
Work Environment/Schedule
This position is a20-hour/week Monday to Thursday position.The hours are:
- Monday,9-2
- Tuesday,9-2
- Wednesday, 9-2
- Thursday, 9-2
