About the site: An Owensboro icon since the 1800s, The Glenmore Distillery operated through Prohibition on a limited medicinal basis and, since becoming part of Sazerac in 2009, has grown into one of America’s largest and most advanced bottling facilities.
Why this role matters
- Deliver OTIF to Bottling: Orchestrate batching cells (manual/automated/semi‑automated), continuous inline blending skids, RO water systems, and filtration to meet plan.
- Protect people and product: Lead safety and food safety programs, ensure formula/spec accuracy, and resolve quality issues fast.
- Guard the enterprise: Enforce DOT, USCG, DHS TWIC, Hazmat, and TTB compliance, from bulk alcohol/sweetener receiving (tankers, railcars, barges) to records.
- Move the numbers: Own Juice Loss, WGs/Labor $, Department OHV; drive cost projects targeting Juice Loss %, 9L/case, WGs/Labor $/hour, OT % utilization; contribute to the budget.
Your core outcomes (what great looks like)
- Safety: Zero recordables/LTAs; robust Near Miss reporting; effective accident investigations and root cause actions; compliant Class I Div I and confined space practices; proper PPE usage.
- Quality: Correct formula/spec execution; rapid issue containment to avoid losses; consistent product accuracy through batching and filtration oversight.
- Service: On‑time, in‑full product release to Bottling; reliable equipment performance; well‑coordinated staffing and tankage plans.
- Compliance: Clean internal audits (receipts, proofing, loss reporting, system transactions, equipment calibrations); strong support of all external audits; precise inventories, calibration logs, and complete 122/137 records with timely variance initialization.
- People: A respected, engaged 10‑member team that is developed through the PDS system; clear, fair leadership aligned to Sazerac’s culture.
Key responsibilities
- Lead a 10‑person processing team on a 4‑on/4‑off, 12‑hour night shift (6 pm–6 am).
- Coordinate resources, equipment, and tankage to execute the Bottling schedule.
- Oversee procurement and receiving of bulk alcohol and sweeteners (tankers, railcars, barges) in compliance with DOT, USCG, DHS TWIC, Hazmat.
- Supervise batching (manual and automated), inline blending skids, RO water system, and all product/ingredient filtration systems.
- Promote a proactive safety culture—deliver safety kickoff messages and sustain active Near Miss reporting.
- Analyze performance, drive cost savings, and provide input into the annual budget.
- Lead/participate in projects that support your growth and departmental goals; create and execute a personal career development plan.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of relevant experience with supervisory responsibility.
- Hands‑on experience in processing/receiving operations.
- Strong communication across all levels; detail‑driven with sound analytical/technical skills.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook proficiency.
Preferred
- Alcohol beverage or CPG industry experience.
- Union leadership experience.
- Knowledge of beverage processing equipment.
- Experience in inventory control, perpetual inventory, and budgeting.
Schedule and pay
Hours: 6 pm–6 am, 4 days on / 4 days off.
Salary: $74,000–$111,000. Placement within the range is based on years of directly relatable experience for the position.
