Job Description
- Lead the mechanical design and development of advanced robotic automation systems, including BIW, material handling, and custom automation solutions.
- Own end-to-end design responsibility, from concept development and feasibility studies through detailed engineering, validation, and release.
- Create and review 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using CAD tools such as CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with controls, manufacturing, and project teams to ensure seamless system integration and on-time delivery.
- Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA to ensure robust, safe, and cost-effective designs.
- Support supplier coordination and design reviews, including technical discussions, root cause analysis, and design improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership, promoting best practices and continuous improvement in design processes.
- Ensure designs meet customer specifications, quality standards, and project timelines, while driving innovation and value engineering.
