Role: Medical Scheduler
Location: Saint Paul, MN, must be able to be fully on-site
Compensation: $22-$25 per/hour, commensurate with experience
Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental
Schedule: Monday–Friday, daytime hours
Position Summary
Join a dynamic healthcare team in Saint Paul as a Medical Scheduler. You’ll play a pivotal role coordinating appointments, confirming patient information and insurance (including authorizations), and supporting clinic efficiency through exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Coordinate provider availability, handle cancellations and appointment changes efficiently
- Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility prior to visits (e.g., Medicare/Medicaid/commercial plans)
- Send appointment reminders and follow up on no‑shows or incomplete registrations
- Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR/EHR system
- Communicate with clinical teams, billing, and referrals to ensure seamless patient flow
- Handle rescheduling and urgent appointment requests with professionalism
- Uphold HIPAA and confidentiality standards in all tasks
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a medical scheduler or front‑desk role in a clinical setting. Surgery Scheduling highly preferred.
- Proficient in scheduling software and EMR/EHR systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone customer service skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification processes
- Ability to manage high-volume calls and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
