JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs for our Automated Fabrication Machines. Including set-up for operators, issuing job duties, and helping troubleshoot machines while meeting Wilson Hurd a division of Nelson-Miller’s business goals and objectives.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / FUNCTIONS:
· Setting up, transfer line, VT19 and strip feeds
· Troubleshooting / machine maintenance
· Read and understand work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance
· Die maintenance and cleaning
· Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and mark defective areas or advise supervisors of repair needs
· Clean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipment
· Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems
· Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information
· Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
· High school diploma or equivalent a must
· Engineering or Electro Mechanical experience a plus
· Computerized maintenance management system software CMMS
· Tool and die work for fabrication machines
· Machine operation and troubleshooting
SKILLS / ABILITIES
· Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
· Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
· Analytical and problem-solving skills
· Be able to use a ruler, caliper, micrometer and height gauge
· Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
· Arm Hand Steadiness – the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
· Machine Problem Sensitivity – the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong
· Near Vision – The ability to see details at close range
· Control Precision – The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine
· Excellent physical condition and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
· Able to sit or stand for long periods of time
