Job DescriptionABR is recruiting a 1st shift Lead Lab Technician for a food manufacturer in Central Wisconsin. Must be able to work every other weekend.
Starting wage is $23.00 - $25.00 depending on experience. This is a DIRECT HIRE with full benefits package.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Lead Lab Technician to oversee quality control and lab testing operations at our food production facility. This role ensures that all products meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards through regular sampling, testing, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food or dairy lab testing and the ability to lead and train lab staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily lab operations and provide leadership to lab technicians
- Ensure compliance with company policies, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory guidelines
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment, ensuring accurate test results
- Document and report lab results, identifying any quality issues for corrective action
- Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to resolve concerns
- Train and mentor lab team members on testing procedures and safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field is preferred
- 2+ years of lab experience in the food or dairy industry
- Familiarity with standard testing methods and food safety regulations
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and leadership skills
