Job Description

Purpose of the Position: Responsible for the safe operation of assigned production process and/or machine. Responsible for meeting Electricfil Corporation quality criteria.

Job Duties

  • Obtain and comprehend the Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWI) linked to the process including but not limited to Start up/ Shutdown, Operation of machine per reference, and Non – Conforming Catalogue requirements.
  • Inspect and ensure all material is conforming per QWIs.
  • Machine set-up and report any inconsistencies with first part validations.
  • Maintain production documentation and production rates established for this machine.
  • Always maintain good housekeeping standards at the workstation.
  • Assure that safety standards are always maintained.
  • Cross train on other machines.
  • Preparing production reports to document daily production levels.
  • Train new operators.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Authority:

  • To make recommendations relating to product and production processes to team leader, shift supervisor, quality, maintenance, or other members of management.
  • To stop a production process if there is a safety issue with equipment.
  • All employees have a quality, safety, and environmental responsibility; therefore, having the authority to stop any work process which may negatively affect quality, safety, and/or the environment, or quarantine suspect items in the appropriate designated area until the issues are resolved.

Accountabilities:

  • Individual is responsible for machine set-up.
  • Individual is responsible for obtaining visual aids of the parts/electronic sensors.
  • Individual is responsible for loading machines with proper components
  • Individual is responsible for meeting Electricfil Corporation quality criteria.
  • Individual is responsible for meeting assigned production levels.
  • Individual is responsible for the cleanliness of the station.
  • Individual is responsible for maintaining production documentation legibly.
  • Individual is responsible for complying with all applicable plant, human resources, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Individual is responsible for informing the Supervisor of all issues affecting the quality of the products or of the processes as well as of all potential issues that may create safety or environmental hazards.
  • Individual is to strictly adhere to Company Safety and other policies as documented in Electricfil Handbook.
  • Adhere to and implement everything in his/her power to achieve the Quality, Safety, and Environmental objectives and reduce the environmental impacts related to the activity of Electricfil Corporation.

Quality:

  • Each production operator is responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product meets the expected level.
  • Reports / informs of any issue that would compromise quality or create a safety or environmental hazard.

Internal and/or external contacts:

  • (Internally) Individual will interface with management & all levels of personnel within the organization.
  • (Internally) Individual will work closely with the maintenance, engineering, safety, and quality departments
  • (Externally) Individual will interface with customer and vendor representatives. This will include participation in customer audits and visits as requested.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • One year of work experience, preferably as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be alert, self-motivated and detail oriented.

Special knowledge (languages, IT, etc.):

  • Communication/negotiation/meeting facilitation.
  • Fluent in business English, IT literate.

Supplemental Requirements for Advancement:

  • Cross training on additional pieces of equipment
  • Participation in internal and external training programs
  • Satisfactory performance reviews (internally)

Functional capacity requirements:

Note: In terms of an 8-hour workday, “Occasionally” equals 1% to 33%; “Frequently” equals 34% to 66%, and “Continuously” equals 67% to 100% of the time.

In an 8-hour workday the jobholder should be able to:

  1. Occasionally sit.
  1. Frequently stand and walk.
  1. Occasionally bend/stoop, squat, twist, push/pull, kneel and crouch.
  1. Occasionally reach above shoulder level.
  1. Occasionally carry/lift up to fifty (50) pounds, as in a case of paper or a file box.
  1. Continuously use his/her hands/fingers for the repetitive actions of simple and firm manipulation/grasping, as in operating a computer keyboard or touch tone telephone.
  1. Occasionally use his/her head and neck in flexing and rotating.
  1. Continuously be around manufacturing working conditions.
  1. Continuously be in a climate (heated/air-conditioned) controlled environment.
  1. Continuously be around moving machinery.
  1. Work in an ESD controlled Environment
