Position Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR RN)
Location: Santa Rosa, California
Setting: Outpatient Surgical / Operating Room
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift Type: Day Shift
Shift Hours: 07:00 AM – 05:30 PM
Schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (Monday–Friday)
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to provide safe, efficient, and high-quality perioperative care in an ambulatory surgical environment. The OR RN will support multiple surgical specialties while ensuring strict adherence to sterile technique and patient safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative nursing care to surgical patients
Function as a circulating nurse in the operating room
Maintain sterile field and enforce infection control protocols
Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures
Prepare, manage, and coordinate surgical instruments and equipment
Monitor patient status and respond to intraoperative changes
Ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records (Epic preferred)
Handle, label, and process surgical specimens appropriately
Educate patients and families regarding procedures and postoperative care
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of Operating Room nursing experience required
Experience in ambulatory or general OR settings required
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License required
Current AHA BLS certification required
Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical procedures
Ability to work across multiple surgical specialties including orthopedics, ENT, urology, ophthalmology, and general surgery
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
