Job Description
The Marketing & Business Development Manager will play a key role in supporting the firm’s growth initiatives across Southern California, while being based in our Irvine office. This position will partner closely with attorneys and firm leadership to develop and execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives that drive client growth, strengthen relationships, and enhance the firm’s visibility in the regional market. While experience in technology and life sciences sectors is valued, this role will support a broad range of practice areas and industry initiatives aligned with the firm’s overall growth strategy.
Responsibilities include collaborating with attorneys and practice group leaders to develop and implement business development plans, identifying new client opportunities and cross-selling initiatives, and supporting the execution of targeted outreach strategies throughout Southern California. The Marketing & Business Development Manager will also lead the development of pitches, proposals, and client presentations; coordinate and execute client events, sponsorships, and seminars; and help elevate the firm’s presence within key business and professional networks. This role will track and report on business development activity and results, support lateral integration efforts, and partner with the broader marketing team on branding, communications, and digital initiatives. The position requires a strategic, proactive professional who can effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining a strong client service approach.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in marketing and/or business development within a professional services environment, with law firm experience strongly preferred. Candidates should have strong knowledge of the Southern California market, particularly Orange County, and a demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively with senior stakeholders, including attorneys and firm leadership. Experience supporting technology, life sciences, or other innovation-driven sectors is a plus but not required. The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong project management abilities, and a strategic, solutions-oriented mindset. A collaborative approach, high level of professionalism, and the ability to influence without authority are essential for success in this role.
This position is based in our Irvine office and supports initiatives across Southern California. Occasional travel to other firm offices and regional events will be required.
