Job Description
This role involves operating a Class A commercial vehicle to complete regional pick-up and delivery routes across Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, and North Dakota. You spend most of the week on the road from Monday through Thursday, and perform local deliveries when regional runs are not required. The position includes loading and unloading trailers, maintaining accurate driver logs, and conducting thorough safety checks on trucks and trailers.
Responsibilities
- Drive a Class A commercial vehicle on regional routes across Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, and North Dakota from Monday through Thursday.
- Perform local delivery routes when regional state runs are not required.
- Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently using forklifts.
- Lift and move freight weighing up to 70 pounds as needed.
- Complete accurate and timely daily driver logs, including data entry of hours, routes, and delivery information.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies while on the road and at customer locations.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers to ensure on-time pick-ups and deliveries.
- Secure loads properly to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Maintain a clean and organized cab and assist in keeping the warehouse loading areas safe and orderly.
Essential Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Tanker endorsement.
- Willingness to obtain a Hazmat endorsement if required.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds safely and repeatedly.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry for daily driver logs and related documentation.
- Experience operating forklifts for loading and unloading trailers.
- Strong knowledge of DOT safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to perform thorough safety checks and inspections on trucks and trailers.
- Capability to work on the road Monday through Thursday on regional routes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a regional or local Class A CDL driver.
- Comfort working in both warehouse and over-the-road environments.
- Strong attention to detail when completing logs and safety inspections.
- Good communication skills for interacting with dispatchers and customers.
- Dependable work habits and a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Work Environment
